Duba Plains went all out on Monday the 3rd March by celebrating the first ever World Wildlife Day with their guests. A global event to mark the need to focus and conserve our natural history.
“On 20 December 2013, the Sixty-eighth session of the United Nations General Assembly decided to proclaim 3 March as World Wildlife Day to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild fauna and flora. The date is the day of the adoption of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) in 1973, which plays an important role in ensuring that international trade does not threaten the species’ survival”.
It was a big day as it was also the birthday of our CEO Dereck Joubert which was very poignant.
The camp prepared information booklets and asked the guests to help with suggestions to conserve the wilderness. It provided us with a mutual consciousness to protect and we look forward to something bigger and bettering 2014.
