Resident Leopard ‘Fig’ making a kill at Mara Plains

An incredible safari sighting was witnessed by Kevin, one of our Maasai driver guides based at Mara Plains in Kenya. “During our afternoon game drive on the 9th June, after driving for half an hour from the camp, we came across Fig our resident leopard. We slowly followed her as she seemed to be on a hunting mission … Unknowingly to us, she had spotted a group of impalas with some young ones and that is what she was tracking. So we followed her closely as she calculated her steps and within no time, she ran as fast as she could and pounced on a young impala.” For guests and guides alike, it was an exciting afternoon to be on safari at Mara Plains.
