Huge congratulations go to Great Plains cofounders

Huge congratulations go to Great Plains cofounders and wildlife filmmakers Dereck and Beverly Joubert for picking up two Emmy nominations for their film "Jade Eyed Leopard". It's an incredible achievement and one that helps highlight the plight of these big cats. ⁣
The film tells the story of Toto, a young leopardess born under tent number five at what was then our Mara Toto Camp (now called Mara Expedition Camp). After nearly losing her life in a devastating flood that washed away the camp, Toto went on to thrive alongside her mother Fig with whom she shares an extraordinary bond.⁣ Many guests have had the privilege of seeing Fig and Toto in the wild and we hope that their legacy will live on for many years to come.⁣

This is Toto – a remarkable leopardess who we spent countless hours with while filming "Jade Eyed Leopard". Our biggest hope is that, through the film, Toto's story will help highlight and raise awareness about the dire threats leopards currently face. We're very ⁣proud to announce that the film received two Emmy Award nominations: one for Outstanding Nature Documentary and another for Outstanding Sound.⁣⁣

This means the world to us personally, but, crucially, the nominations also help thrust the film's message into the spotlight, which we hope will lead to greater awareness regarding the plight of leopards and the urgent need to protect them.⁣⁣

It's official – our @relaischateaux plaque has arrived at Mara Nyika in Kenya! This intimate tented camp set in a valley, straddling a small stream on the western side of the private Naboisho Conservancy bordering Kenya’s Maasai Mara, is one of the newest Relais & Châteaux member properties in Kenya and offers guests unrivalled food, hospitality and wildlife activities.

Camp Manager Marietta Keru and Operations Manager Shadrack Adera can't wait to proudly display the plaque to guests.
