A safari is a journey to the wild but also one within: a very personal experience.

Great Plains Conservation is pleased to announce that the winner of the 2019 Great Plains Photo Competition has just been selected by Dereck and Beverly Joubert.

There were 253 entries from guests all over the world, showcasing their amazing wildlife experiences with the photos they took across all of our properties.

The winning image was taken by Joe Slamovich when he visited Duba Plains in Botswana.

The image of painted dogs in flight was selected by Dereck and Beverly because:

“The talent to be able to capture painted dogs on the run has involved a balance of low exposure time and camera movement to create the blur which enhances the perception of speed.”

We look forward to announcing the new Great Plains Photo Competition for 2020 in the coming weeks and seeing even more great guest images on all of our social channels.
