The Duba Plains Suite, an exquisite two-bedroom tented suite located on the 33,000-hectare private Duba Concession, ensures a private Botswana safari. This Great Plains Conservation Réserve-Collection safari camp is tucked into the pristine Okavango Delta, filled with iconic African wildlife, with unending views across floodplains. There is simply no other safari experience like this in Botswana’s Okavango Delta.

The Duba Plains Suite guests automatically enjoy the services of a private vehicle, guide, private host and chef. The entire space has a luxurious yet distinctly African feel.

Safari Suite

The Duba Plains Suite is raised on recycled railway sleeper decking and offers guests fabulous views and a steady stream of wildlife parading past. This private 2-bedroomed Suite has a wrap-around private verandah complete with two private plunge pools and shaded outdoor seating areas. In addition, the Duba Plains Suite comes complete with the services of a personal butler, chef, private safari vehicle, and wildlife guide.

This is the perfect private safari camp partner to the 2-bedroomed Dhow Suite at Zarafa or Selinda Suite, both located in the private Selinda Reserve.

The heart of the Suite is an expansive indoor lounge and dining area. Each bedroom, which flank the central lounge and dining area,  offers guests beautifully appointed en-suite facilities, including indoor and outdoor showers and a luxurious bath. Fans and a solar-powered air-conditioning system over the guest’s bed area ensure that the tent’s design maintains a comfortable climate.

The Duba Plains Suite offers a professional camera and a selection of lenses for your complimentary use. At the end of your safari stay with us, your wildlife images and video footage is downloaded as our gift to you to take home.

These rates include accommodation, scheduled activities, all meals, laundry service, non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages including premium brand spirits and champagne,

The return scheduled seat in plane air transfers from Maun and/or Kasane Airports, as well as inter-camp air transfers from Great Plains properties and those third parties in the greater Okavango Delta and Linyanti/Savuti regions to Duba Reserve, are automatically included in the nightly rate – subject to a minimum 2-night stay. Where air transfers are from properties located outside of these regions, supplementary charges will be applicable.

Safari Experiences

The private Duba Concession prides itself on offering extraordinary luxury safari wildlife experiences in Botswana. Many consider this region Botswana’s Okavango Delta’s ‘Maasai Mara’ because of the sheer volume of wildlife.

The Duba Plains Suite guests automatically enjoy the services of a private guide and wildlife-viewing safari vehicle. Here, you will enjoy intimate and up-close wildlife viewing opportunities. Wildlife often seen includes lions, leopards, elephants, lechwe, buffalo and everything in between.

Duba Plains is also known for occasional sights of interesting Kalahari species like aardwolves and pangolins.

Wildlife viewing activities concentrate on exploring this private concession in open game drive vehicles, guided walks, traditional canoes (mokoros) and boating.

Water-based wildlife viewing activities are water level dependent at certain times of the year.

Lasting Impact

Great Plains Female Rangers: Empowering Women on the Front Line of Conservation

The Female Ranger Program invites women from local communities to embark on a 12-month training program equipping them with a plethora of skills, including data collection, first aid, computer skills, driving skills, and more. They are then hired and deployed in our concessions to monitor and manage the biodiversity. Great Plains’ Female Rangers also offers opportunities to shift gender stereotypes, empower vulnerable women, and establish strong female role models for young girls. The long-term conservation impact of this project is equally powerful; female rangers will help foster the community buy-in necessary to preserve Africa’s most precious biodiversity.
