“Our home, where Beverly and I have lived for nearly twenty years. It was chosen because it is quite simply the best place on Earth. This place restores my spirit. It simultaneously causes my adrenalin to pump as I watch swamp lions swim across water channels to hunt thousands of lechwe and hundreds of buffalo. I created a piece of art for this camp, inspired by a male lion Beverly had photographed here once. I deconstructed a brass clock and hammered the fragments across the wooden canvas. The piece expresses how the total number of these beloved African lions hovers around 20,000 and that they are running out of time.
