The Camp

Zamara Private is a six-suite, fully serviced private safari villa located at the edge of the Maasai Mara Reserve in Kenya. Ideal for families or small groups, it offers exclusive access to one of Africa’s most celebrated ecosystems.

The design is rooted in Wabi Sabi principles — celebrating stillness, space, and natural beauty. A dedicated guide, chef, and concierge team ensures a seamless, immersive safari tailored entirely to you.

At the heart of Zamara Private is an expansive lounge with a fireplace that flows onto a broad deck where the wilderness of the Maasai Mara reveals itself in quiet, breathtaking ways. A rooftop terrace with a landscaped lawn offers the perfect setting for al fresco breakfasts, relaxing during the day, stargazing or candlelit dinners beneath vast African skies.

Dining is a sensory journey: plant-rich menus celebrate local ingredients and are tailored to your preferences, while a curated wine room offers some of the most acclaimed wine available from exceptional global producers.

Beyond you will find a 15×5 metre infinity pool offering a midday reprieve, and a private wellness and gym, sauna, and steam rooms areas — providing a space to unwind in between your safari adventures. Zamara Private also offers guests an on-site, relaxing and inviting Spa.

Safari Suite

Each of the six suites at Zamara Private is a self-contained sanctuary, with natural grass-planted roofs that blend effortlessly into the surrounding landscape. Interiors are designed to restore, featuring thoughtful touches such as overhead fans, air conditioning, private outdoor decks, and the rare luxury of a starlit shower beneath the open sky.

The villa accommodates up to 12 guests exclusively and includes:

2 Master Suites — ideal for couples or parents with children.
4 Stand-Alone Guest Suites — with flexible configurations for families.

One of the Master Suites is ideal in terms of also serving as a family unit, as it can be easily combined with a nearby standard Suite, creating a 2-bedroom haven for families.

Thoughtfully designed for families, couples, or close-knit groups, Zamara Private is a retreat where comfort and wilderness coexist in perfect harmony.

From USD $32,500 per night — based on 12 guests sharing

More Details

The rate is fully inclusive of:

Accommodation for 12 guests sharing on an exclusive-use basis
All meals
Private safari drives in the Maasai Mara National Reserve
All national park and reserve conservation fees
Daily laundry service
Non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, including premium spirits and champagne
Return road transfers from ol Kiombo Airstrip
Return scheduled seat in plane air transfers from Nairobi Wilson or properties in the greater Maasai Mara region are included in the full nightly rate for the first 12 guests, subject to a minimum 2-night stay. Zamara Private can accommodate up to 16 guests when children are included. These additional guests’ air transfers are not included in the standard nightly rate and would be charged for separately. For any air transfers outside of these areas, standard flying costs apply to all guests in the party.

Zamara Private welcomes children aged 6 years and older.

Zamara Private is a serene safari retreat set near the border of Kenya’s wildlife-rich Maasai Mara National Reserve, offering direct access to one of Africa’s most iconic and abundant wildlife areas.

Its intimate setting makes it an ideal base for a classic, immersive safari experience.

Guests enjoy private daily safari drives in open 4×4 safari drive vehicles, led by expert guides, with the flexibility to spend an early morning, late afternoon or even a full day exploring the Reserve.

Picnic breakfasts and lunches are often enjoyed beneath the shade of acacia trees or beside seasonal rivers. From elephant herds crossing the plains to lion prides basking in golden light, the Maasai Mara delivers extraordinary sightings year-round — including, seasonally, the drama of the Great Migration.

For a new perspective, a sunrise hot air balloon safari (available at additional cost) offers breathtaking views of the savannah awakening below. Whether witnessing predator-prey encounters or absorbing the quiet between moments, every safari becomes part of your own unfolding story.

Planting trees is now a well-known strategy for the health of the planet. Our Conservation Roots program has planted indigenous trees across Kenya, Botswana, and Zimbabwe for years. The purpose of the replanting varies across the regions and ranges from habitat restoration, riverbank strengthening, community food security and shade. The program has a deep-rooted educational aspect, working closely with local community schools on the value of protecting trees and nature. We all need to give the planet’s lungs a second chance, and we encourage you to join us by planting a tree during your stay.
