Disconnecting to Connect in Zambia

On safari in Zambia, disconnecting from the digital world allows for a deeper connection with nature, loved ones, and oneself.

Without distractions, every moment feels richer—watching the sun rise over the Zambezi, silently approaching wildlife on foot or fireside conversations under a starry sky.

A safari in Zambia is the ultimate gift of disconnection offering true immersion in the wild.

2024GP Collective Issue Zambia South Luangwa

Ingrid Brandon, one of our Senior Safari Designers, visited The Bushcamp Company lodges in Zambia. This is what she has to say about her experience:

“South Luangwa has completely stolen my heart. With its vast size (9,000 sq km!) and few visitors, it feels like stepping into a true wilderness dream. One highlight was choosing between classic safari drives and guided walks—walking through the bush and seeing elephants up close, without the hum of an engine, is unforgettable.

Chindeni is a gem in the serene southern end of the park, overlooking a breathtaking lagoon with stunning sunrises. Morning bush walks are magical, ending with a surprise brunch—rolling out your own pizza dough while gazing at the water.

Bilimungwe is rustic yet stylish, with a deck overlooking a wildlife-rich waterhole. Watching “bush TV” for hours was mesmerizing. Sundowners were unforgettable—chairs set up in the river, drinks in hand, and grilled kebabs, with the sunset reflecting on the water.

Kukaya is the perfect finale, just 45 minutes from Mfuwe Airport. The personalized attention is exceptional, from private plunge pools to intimate wildlife moments by the waterhole. Skipping a safari drive to relax with a cold drink, watching nature unfold, was pure bliss.

Each of these camps in South Luangwa has its own special charm, but they all share one thing: they make you fall even more in love with this wild, wonderful place  – ZAMBIA – Ingrid Brandon.

A special thank you to Andy and Amy for their incredible hospitably and for hosting Ingrid.
