What is the downside?
Celebrating the Earth should be universally recognised as a benign and respectful act, regardless of one’s beliefs or opinions on how to utilise this precious planet.
I am reminded, as always at this time, of the American writer Aldo Leopold, who said that insisting on every acre of land to pay for itself is like burning the furniture to keep the house warm.
At Great Plains, in each of our camps, we celebrate Earth Day this week in different ways. Each involves just a moment looking at an African sunset, taking a deep breath, and soaking up how amazingly lucky we are to be alive today in this era of appreciation.
