Zamara Private, the newest addition to our Great Plains portfolio, is ready to bring to everyone’s attention.
Situated in a thicket of trees on high ground in the Mara, on private land, and not far from Mara Plains Camp, Mara Toto Tree Camp and Mara Expedition Camp, our latest offering is designed for families and sole use of the 6 rooms, with an emphasis on exclusivity and bush luxury. What we have tried to do in the design and in the service is provide a home away from home but in one of the most exciting African habitats you can imagine.
We’d like guests to ‘move in’ and make it their own with ‘full occupation,’ as they would in a holiday home they use each year for a few weeks at a time. It is a place to slow down, not chase after the amazing wildlife that is all around, but to drive out, or walk, relax and decompress, to get into the rhythm of the land, the endless sky, the Maasai culture on their own time. It is about spending precious moments as a family. We invite guests to also peel back the layers of culture, wildlife sightings, friendships, great cuisine, with personal butlers, hand-selected wine and of course in the company of family and friends…in private.
In laying out Zamara originally, I knew it was going to be special; the view, the soft, dappled shade from the acacia trees, the zebras wandering through, all exuded a sense of peace and tranquillity; a place that we could call home. On the very first day of planning it all, a leopard moved into the site to give birth: a blessing of our latest endeavour.
Zamara is built to provide every possible comfort, but to do that within a hidden world.
