Watch Wednesday – Rewilding

The ‘origins’ story of Great Plains is about how to make a difference with a combination of tourism, social responsibility to communities and conservation and like most grand schemes, you chip away at the concept and then step back from time to time and see your vision taking shape.

This week we reviewed our conservation efforts as a way to just keep grounded to those origins, and the team here has put together a short video example.

The concept of rewilding is simply about finding places with an overabundance of wildlife and connecting the dots to places that have been hunted or depleted of wildlife. That is where we now find our niche.

Rewilding: making a difference, making this amazing planet just a little better with each relocation, done with carefully thought-out science, care and compassion. Each project follows up with research and monitoring, adjusts methodology and continues.

The attached video of what we have achieved in just a short time across our portfolio even took my breath away! What makes this special for me as well is that we have even moved animals to places where we don’t have a camp, no tourism or interest.

The question we ask all the time is: “How can we make a difference?” The answer is, “In each thought or action each day.
